New York - Day 11

Merry Christmas to all, today's weather has been magnificent, New York has all shops closed, can you believe it, it’s like Diwali in Bangalore or more like a bund (strike) in Bangalore. Except the transportations the rest of New York is closed. All people are rushing back home to celebrate Christmas eve, lanes, trees and homes are decorated with beautiful lightings.

One of my sister’s friend Aparna came down from St. Louis to spend some time with us. So, today the women wanted to watch a movie so we left for New Jersey to watch a Telugu movie (KING), can you believe that a Telugu movie in NY for all the things...uff... Anyways, I wasn’t keen on watching the Telugu movie rather wanted to watch Gajini (Aamir Khan's new movie). Finally we were 2:1 to and decided on the Telugu movie and left to Penn Station to board NJ transit. We reached Metro Park station and I was taken back to see Gajini's movie's ad on the train platform in NJ, picture posted below. Ok, finally we had our Uncle who stays in NJ pick us up from the station and we left for the movie, as we reached the movie hall, we got to know tickets were sold out for the Telugu - KING movie, OMG tickets sold out for a Telugu movie in NJ...Uff...anyways I was happy as I was not interested in the KING movie in the first place, so we had no other option but to watch ‘Gajini’ movie at last. The movie theatre was full with Indian people. After the movie we left for a India restaurant called ‘Mughal’ in NJ, the food was not bad... Later we got back to NY. The funny part was the train tickets cost us $41.50 for 3 people and the movie tickets cost us $15 for 3 people lol what a joke? Few Pictures of New Jersey taken from the train
